Weekend fun

Helped a friend on Sunday install his new bamboo flooring. Quite nice stuff if I do say so. If/when I ever get a house this is the stuff I'll be putting in.

Maintenance!

Huge maintenance that I helped my friend in IT perform over the weekend, basically switched out all of our core firewalls and rebuild the server/management networks. Was fun except for that we started at 12:01am on Saturday and it took us a good 9-10 hours to finish up. Such is life I suppose. 1st image is me making a mess of the over-sized fiber jumpers in the tray at about 4 am. Next pic is my beautiful Fairlady waiting for me after a long night of work.

New Monitor

Got my new monitor for my home pc but decided to play with it at work first :) Its a Samsung Touch of Color T240HD, and let me tell you it is amazing. 24 inches of 1080p compatible goodness that I will most likely spend a few years of my life in front of. I will try and post some better images later on but heres one of it on my work desk, it completely dwarfs my one of my 19 in Dell ultra sharps that I have as my work monitors.

Inversion part 2

Much different view this time. I decided it would be nice to take a pick from above the grey and gloomy ground and decided that flying to Reno for the day would be the perfect way to do so. Unfortunately the fun stops there as i'm really just going down to do inventory and come back. My department doesn't have a permanent person on staff in Reno so we rotate out on who has to go down each month. Its my turn this month so here is the inversion from above and a kinda crappy image of downtown Reno taken from our Datacenter.

Happy inversion day!

Since this is the 1st true inversion we have had this winter I figured someone should record the day for posterity.

View from outside the office, its grey out, really grey.
